The steam boat “Schiller” is just one of the paddle steamers plying on Lake Lucerne during Summer season. Steam Boat “Schiller” has been in operation since 1906. It has 2 decks, economy class and first class. It is 63 meters in length and 14.30 meters in width.
“Schiller” has been renovated several times, in 1952, in 1977, and in 1997-2000. When this rare steam boat was restored in 1997-2000, they used original woods that were used when “Schiller” was first built.
I highly recommend that you take a paddle steamer ride or steam boat ride if you are visiting Lucerne. Make sure that the weather is really nice and devote a whole day for such so to enjoy the beautiful sceneries along the lake known in Switzerland as “Vierwaldstaettersee”.
